Nudura insulated concrete form basement walls going up walls are 2 1/2″ foam on inside and out with a 6″ reinforced concrete core. This provides an R value up to 50 below grade. In comparison a standard block or concrete foundation is not much above 0 R value. First floor structural insulated panels going up- R value 27.
The under slab is prepared with an epdm rubber membrane. The seams are glued and edges anchored to the wall with an aluminum anchor bar and mastic sealant. This insures no moisture or radon gas will ever enter the living space. After membrane was placed a 2 1/2″ thick hydrofoam insulation was installed this product allows you to friction fit all the pex tubing required for the radiant heat system.
